postcard

Dear mom and dad
We have now been in London for two days and we are having so much fun. Yesterday we were walking around London and we were looking at a lot of different statues and monuments. It was so much fun and after we went to oxford street and shopped in Primark, we ate at different places like Mcdonalds and Subway and some even in KFC. Today we have been in hyde park and we saw speakers corner, Buckingham palace and Victoria memorial. After that we had to go on a treasure hunt around London, we met a lot of lovely people who helped us find the different posts and we found out that the people in London are really nice and lovely people. We won first place in the treasure hunt and we got a price consisting of a ginger beer, a bag of chrisps, some chocolate and some magnets for the fridge. Now we are going to eat some sushi and maybe watch football.
Hope you re having fun at home, miss you lots!

A delayed postcard.

Hello!
We're in London, and having a lot of fun.Today we started out by doing some sightseeing. We started off in Holland Park, where we saw a statue and a Japanese garden, which was built to honor the dead at the tragic disaster on the 11th of march, 2011. We also went on a treasure hunt throughout London. We were told to find a series of different locations, in our different groups, and started off at Buckingham Palace. Some of us haven't been here in London before, so none of us really knew how to get anywhere, so we had to ask alot of people on the streets. We quickly learned that the people of London, and propably all of England as well, are a kind and welcoming people who, despite of often being in a hurry, always tries to help out. The treasure hunt ended at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, where we met up with our teachers, and the winners were named.
Tonight is Champions League night, and local team Chelsea takes on turkish Galatasaray, whos fans we saw partying and singing at Trafalgar Square.
We hope you're all doing back home.

Today we have been on a treasure hunt. The place we went to was Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives. We have been visiting eleven different places for example 221B Baker Street, Millennium Bridge and London Eye. Our impression of London is that there are a lot of people here who are very nice and polite. We have also been noticing that the Underground is very popular and everybody is using it. It is also very easy to use, and for every time we used it, it got easier and easier. It’s a big city with so many things to see and London is properly one of the most exciting cities in the world. We all agree on that we definitely are visiting this great city again; also we have had so much fun doing this treasure hunt, asking a lot of people who gladly would help us finding all the treasures around the city.

Is this made in India?
To me
The only thing that's real
Is the silk
It may be soft as milk
If you have been in that land
The only thing you have seen is sand
It was made long time ago
In the 17th or 18th century
When the time wasn't so
It's a floorspread
Made by craftsmen
To the Mughal Court
And for export
If I saw it in another place
I would think it was made in France
I have never seen flowers like these in India
This is a mysteria

Poem about Silenus' Jug

Poem about Silenus' Jug - 1845

Together we Fall, together we rise.
Together forever we Roll the dice.
Big or small, whatever the size.
Together forever we Roll the dice

Together we cheer, together we drink
Standing together we'll never sink
We help each other clearly to think
Standing together we'll never sink

Tiger

The soldier is made of tree
and now we watch him for free.
We see the pain in his face
the tiger wants a taste.
The tiger is a beautiful creature
but now he is going to eat ya!
He is Indian, he is French
but who wants him in the end?
The tiger yells and the soldier cries
but who is going to survive?
He reached for the dagger, picked it up
shot the tiger and made it stop.

Poem about St. Johns Cathedral

Whites are whites
Blacks are blacks
Everyone is equal
At saint johns cathedral
The colours are bright
With a certain light
Whites are born to be rich
And the blacks are born an itch
The building is standing tall
And on the inside is a gret hall
The blacks wants to be free
And the white needs to let them be.
